A while back, I posted about friends that I would drop anything to help them (I’m too lazy to link to the post right now, so you’ll just have to believe me that I did). Well, one of those few people who I would do just about anything for has been going through a rough spot in her relationship. A. called me yesterday and said, “I’m moving out and I need a place to stay for the next month or so.” So it looks like I’ll have a roommate for the next month. She may just take over my apartment when I move out. She hasn’t told her girlfriend yet, so it’s remotely possible that she will decide to stay in her house until she can afford to get her own place, but it’s unlikely. A. has a key to my place, so I expect her to show up sometime today or after work tomorrow with her personal stuff.
A. and S. are both really cool people, so I’m really bummed that they are breaking up. I always thought they were perfect for each other, so I can’t quite figure out why thy can’t make it work out. They just argue about silly things. But it’s not really my place to point that out just now. A. has been my friend for about 10 years, and I’ve only known S. for about 4 years (the amount of time that they’ve been together), so it feels like everyone’s natural tendency is to assume that I am A.’s friend. Of course, I am. But I hope that sometime in the future it’s possible for me to be friends with S. also. I like her too.
