So, usually when I get a chance to sleep in at home, I’m woken by a car alarm, or by someone honking on I-5, or by someone dumping their glass recycling in the alley adjoining my bedroom.

Last night, I stayed with P in Olympia. This morning I was woken by the sounds of screaming juvenile redtail hawks, and a towhee alarm call. For breakfast, i walked outside and filled up on blackberries and blueberries from around the edges of the yard.

Yep, it’s time to get out of the city.
