Reply Kathy on August 14, 2007 at 2:44 pm if you google fennel recipes, there are a ton of them. I have never used it, but it sounds like it would be worth trying. Reply Jonathan on August 14, 2007 at 7:52 pm I made some pickles a couple of weeks ago. It was pretty easy, though they are not ready to eat yet so I’ve yet to see how they will turn out. Do you have anymore untold stories from summer camp? I loved reading the ones you’ve put up so far. Reply deandail on August 15, 2007 at 8:13 am Thanks Sarah! Kathy, I looked up some fennel recipes and I remember now that it’s the stuff that tastes sort of like licorice. I’m wondering if I have enough lavender from those plants you gave us. Mmmm, Lavender-Fennel Cookies. Jonathon, I dislike dill pickles, so that means I would want to make some of the more complicated ones. I’ve read the directions for how to make sweet pickles, but I think I would need someone who knew what they were doing to show me the first time. I do have more stories from summer camp, just haven’t had time to write them up. It’s really encouraging to know that someone reads and appreciates them; that definitely makes me more motivated to put them up. But it will probably be a couple of weeks yet, since this week looks pretty full, and then I’ll be at the Art of Mentoring all next week. It’s not as hard as you think. I’d like to try one of those cookies… you could sprinkle the top with the lavender sugar I was telling you about.
