So, from now on I will have to choose them in the reverse order. grrrr…. Anyway, Wow, Sarah, what a great shot! That could be a postcard! And, DeAnna – is the possum from the rehab place or one you saw in the wild? Very cool to see one that close during the day. I didn’t know you guys had many of those where you are. Reply DeAnna on November 3, 2008 at 6:29 pm Ya, Sarah, that is an amazing picture. It seems like I’ve seen that bridge from the train…? But I’m not sure. Where is it? The possum is from the rehab place. She released him on the day I was there, so I got several really good pictures of him. We do have lots of them here. In fact, when she released him, I was expecting him to go darting for cover, but he just wandered around in the yard for a long time. I said to him, “How have your people managed to survive for so long?” And Tammy answered, “Sheer numbers.” Mom, someday I’d like to visit while the big migrations are going on. That seems really cool, and it’s one of those things that I’m not sure how I didn’t realize it was happening all the time I lived there. Why doesn’t the high school have some field trips to see the cranes or something? Reply Rusty Spur on November 3, 2008 at 6:37 pm These are actually Snow Geese. And that is a very good question as I didn't really tune into this til I moved into this house and am on the flyway. I think it's one of those things that locals take for granted. There are tens of thousands of them here now and I'm seeing thousands each day as they fly over and light in the fields to eat each morning and evening. It sounds like the arctic refuge when they are here! Here is a link to an article in today's Trib about them with a pic taken near my house: http://www.greatfallstribune.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20081103/NEWS01/811030310&referrer=FRONTPAGECAROUSEL Reply Sarah on November 6, 2008 at 4:06 pm I took this picture on Sunday when Malachi and I drove Max back to Newport after he visited for the weekend. I saw the bridge and made Mal pull the car over so I could take a picture because it so clearly wanted it’s picture taken. 🙂 I’ve never seen a possum before – I wouldn’t have even known that’s what that is! How awesome! Reply Submit a Comment Cancel reply Your email address will not be published. Required fields are marked *Comment Name * Email * Website Notify me of follow-up comments by email.
